Dolce Vita entrepreneur making life sweeter
Deepika Sarin, a close friend to the Collins family, earned a Plume from the Quillnews Hall of Fame recently when she gifted my wife and I with a beautiful sample of her custom chocolates in a gift box she also hand-crafted. Zowie, Yummie.
Deepika, known to us through our son, was trained at the graduate level in business and economics. A couple years ago, she shifted gears after a five year tour as a corporate soldier in India left her wanting -- more. In her case, more chocolate!!!
Deepika left the corporate world and started pursuing her passion for the culinary arts, taking courses to help her self become a truly gifted chocolatier with a penchant for quality of taste and presentation. Ever the student, Deepika is currently at home in Delhi broadening her skills by honing her already extensive knowledge of the vast Indian cuisine. Who can doubt that such talents would be a recipe for something truly great in the States? The recent photo of Deepika doing her own gathering at Portland's Sauvie Island is above. Of course, Deepika's home town also recognizes her culinary talents. A fun profile of Deepika was recently published in the Delhi supplement to the Times of India introducing her talents and aspirations. The headline writer obviously is a fan of rock legend, Santana.
