Espionage, disinformation and propaganda are among the psy-op arts available to war fighters to change the balance of power between friend and foe. These deliberate acts of deception and manipulation of information all have to do with changing, penetrating and determining what the enemy thinks and can redress what otherwise might be a disadvantage owing to a war fighting force deficit. (Editors’ aside: Pretty obvious to anyone familiar with military science by the way, but which has been ignored (HT: Fox for one story) by editors employed by the MSM to select what Americans should read, see and hear in the MSM’s “news services.”)
So it was no surprise when soldiers in the war against jihadists learned the content of the Arabic language manual captured by UK cops in Manchester when they raided a flat owned by an Al-Qaeda solidier a few years ago. The manual was found in a computer file described as "the military series" related to the "Declaration of Jihad." Al-Qaeda has trained thousands and thousands of religious zealots to make war on American, its allies and freedom and made sure to write a few words about what a "brother" is to do if he is captured or imprisoned in order that he be able to continue the jihad. The manual in part reads: Lesson 18: Prisons and Detention Centers.
- At the beginning of the trial, once more the brothers must insist on proving that torture was inflicted on them by State Security (investigators) before the judge.
- Complain (to the court) of mistreatment while in prison.
- The brother has to do his best to know the names of the state security officials, who participated in his torture and mention their names to the judge…
Quillnews question #1: How many of you reading this now have ever heard of Lesson 18? (HT: UKT) Put Lesson 18 into a Google and Yahoo search; see what happens. Now put the words Gitmo, urine, Koran and toilet and see what happens. How long will it take to access photos of the prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib? When reporting the entire series of prison abuse stories over the past months, why has the mainstream media ignored the reality of Lesson 18 and not taken that lying, deception and demands to tie up court proceedings are terrorist psychological operations ammo?
Quillnews question #2: Check the websites for ACLU, Human Rights First, and Amnesty International. (here, here, here, here, here, here, here) Notice the persistent accusations of torture, the deliberate personalization of these accusations onto the person of Donald Rumsfeld, the use of high gloss and manipulated video imagery posted on the web, the helpful Arabic translation links, the grass-roots action demanding for a special prosecutor and special investigation commission to look into torture and prisoner abuse. Why are these “human rights” groups obsessed with these matters, when they have been openly investigated and shown to be aberrations?
Quillnews question #3: Knowing that Lesson 18 is part of the Al-Qaeda war manual, why are the news editors in the traditional media, the ACLU, Human Rights First and Amnesty International doing what they are doing? Like Bush 43 asked states who coddled terrorists: are you with us or are you with the terrorists? Just asking... Well, no, I'm not. Actually I'm kind of serious...

They are no longer reporters or rights activists, they are propagandists.
And they're on the other side.
